November 2026
Dekimo is sponsoring the next Belgian C++ User Group (BeC++) meeting on Tuesday 15 December 2026, starting at 18:00 at KU Leuven’s Department of Computer Science in Heverlee.
Join us for an evening of technical C++ presentations, insights into modern C++ development and networking with fellow developers and software engineers. Food and drinks will be provided.
Programme
18:30: Session 1: A gentle introduction to Reflection (Lieven de Cock)
Static reflection is one of the major new features introduced in C++26. This session explores its possibilities through practical examples, including building a universal printer, parsing command-line arguments and detecting padding in types. Discover how reflection opens up new possibilities for writing more flexible and powerful C++ code.
19:30: Break
19:45: Session 2: How I wrote the (almost) fastest C++ DBus library (Rhidian De Wit)
Performance is often a key consideration in C++ development. This session explores techniques for optimising code execution and memory usage while maintaining modern C++ design principles. Learn how to achieve maximum performance without compromising code readability.
20:45: Introduction to Dekimo and KU Leuven Department of Computer Science, followed by networking and drinks.
Book giveaways
Participants will also have the chance to win a copy of one of the following books:
- Software Architecture with C++: Designing Robust C++ Systems with Modern Architectural Practices, Second Edition
- C++ Memory Management: Write Leaner and Safer C++ Code Using Proven Memory-Management Techniques
